The golf team traveled to Jonesville, VA, yesterday to compete in the 32nd annual Farmers and Miners Bank Invitational at Cedar Hill Country Club. It was a packed tournament as 18 teams from all over southwest Virginia, and eastern Kentucky showed out for the tournament. The Warriors began play at 10:00 AM via a shotgun start, and they quickly got to work on a beautiful, sunny day in Lee County. Due to the number of teams and players competing in the tournament, it was a fairly slow day as players didn't begin wrapping up until close to 3:00 PM, but the Warriors still played to the best of their ability. They posted a 373 total score, good enough for 10th out of the 18 teams participating. Leading the way for the Warriors was #2 seed Davis Miller who fired an 85, followed by #1 seed Robbie Wilson who shot 89. Sophomore Jacob Hughes shot 99 and junior Aaron Lawson shot 100 to round out the top 4 scores. The Warrior golf team will return to action today, August 17, for a 9-hole match with Letcher County Central at Raven Rock Golf Course at 4:45.
