Warrior Recap: August 23, 2022 Golf Team Unable to Defend Home Course

The Warriors golf team was back at it again today at Lonesome Pine Country Club, home to Central and Union golf teams, and the competition was too much to handle for the Warriors. The Warriors were matched up against Union, Lee, and Castlewood, all very tough opponents, in today's 9-hole contest. Lee already had a tournament championship under their belts this season when they won the Farmers and Miners Bank Classic last week on their home course at Cedar Hill Country Club, and Castlewood was just coming off a trip to the 1A state tournament last season. Lee got a standout performance from sophomore Jacob Leonard who fired a 3-under par 33 on the front nine leading Lee to another victory on the season. Davis Miller led the way for the Warriors with a 40 with Jacob Hughes and Robbie Wilson behind him with a 48. Aaron Lawson completed the top four scores with a 51, leading the Warriors to a 187 total score. The golf team looks to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to Scott County Park to take on Gate City and John Battle in another 9-hole match at 4:00. #GoDubs
